Pompeii!!

What a fantastic day ! The sun was shining, Vesuvius was in full view and our minds were working overtime as we wandered the streets of Ancient Pompeii. We visited numerous important sites including the Amphitheatre, the bakery, the palestra, the macellum, the theatre and many thermopolium, where we even got served a snack!
After, it was a short bus ride to Boscoreale, where we saw plenty of ancient artifacts discovered in and around Pompeii. We even got to visit Villa Regina, an ancient farm that produced wine.
Then it was on the bus for some fun in the sun in Sorrento, where Ms. Muir treated us all to some yummy gelato and a walk to the beach! We all dipped our feet in the refreshing water and a great day was had by all.
Tommorow we're off to Herculaneum before returning to Ambrit around 630pm. We can't wait to share all our stories!

5M Climbs Vesuvius

After a long journey from Rome, 5M made it to the summit of Mount Vesuvius! It was a long and tiring journey, we met our guide who told us many many interesting things about the volcano. Luckily we just missed the rain as when we were leaving it started to rain like cats and dogs! Tomorrow its off to Pompeii to see how the Romans lived. Cross your fingers the weather clears up! Ciao for now!

5C visits Pompeii

Here are our reflections and some photos of our day at Pompeii! We had a great time living like Ancient Romans, going to the Thermal Baths, the amphitheatre to be like gladiators, buying and selling goods in the Macellum and baking bread in one of the 35 excavated bakeries.

Pompeii Reflections
I really liked Pompeii, I found it very interesting. It was tiring though, because it was difficult to walk on Roman streets because of the varied rocks they used to build them. M.P

I liked to see dead people because I never saw them even if I felt sorry for them, at the same time I didn't like it so much. I even liked the baths because I think it is so wonderful to relax. B.O.

I really like Pompeii. Pompeii is very interesting because you can't see this anywhere else. It's also very cute. R.M.

It is very interesting with all the baths and markets and I took a lot of photos, My favourite part was Via Dell'Abbondanza. L.A.

The best part was the Amphitheatre. It was very well preserved and it was especially interesting how Roman architechture went so far! A.D.B.

I really liked the Macellum because I never seen it before. I didn't like the bakery because I didn't find it really interesting. D.T.

I think it was a good idea to have us doing presentations on each thing. Also, that we were in partners for example I might not have known things that my partner knew. Also, so you can compare what information you had. It is the best trip ever! A.G.

The bad thing about Pompeii is that some tourists did some horrible graffiti on the walls. O.J.

The thing I liked about Pompeii is that it is really well preserved. S.B.H.

The thing I liked about Pompeii was that it was preserved. M.K.

My favourite place was the theatre. It was really big, nice and well preserved and I understood everything about it, thanks to the presentation. O.C.

My favourite place was the theatre because it got preserved so well and because it was not crowded. F.V.V.

The thing that interested me the most was the amphitheatre because I was really surprised by how small the gate of death was. Also for what they did to criminals. A.L.P.

Today I really enjoyed visiting the farm. I liked seeing how a farm actually was. D.P.

My favourite part of Pompeii was the thermopolium because I like to eat! G.

One thing I really enjoyed was hopping on the stones used as a sidewalk in Ancient times. It was so much fun. BEST TRIP EVER! S.H.R

Today I enjoyed everything because I like to see how Ancient Romans lived. I didn't like today's weather. Z.G.
